Need Some Inspiration For Productivity?
Whilst remote working it is important to try and create the right environment in your working surroundings, this will help boost your productivity and hopefully improve your mental attitudes towards working.
Routine
The idea of waking up and getting dressed as if you’re are going to work helps to get you in the frame of mood for work. Relating to this suggestion, it’s been known that if you wear your shoes whilst working is a good method.
Change It Up
Instead of sitting down at a desk all day working, have you ever tried working in a different environment like outside in the fresh air? Another idea is to try the raised desk solution and attempt to stand up working. This eliminates the idea of fidgeting of changing your seating posture and also helps eliminate the idea in your brain that you’ve just sat down working all day.
White Noise
There is research showing that having either music, podcasts or tv on in the background whilst you are working can help to make you work more productively when doing simple tasks. People find the comfort of people talking in the background or a beat of a song to help increase work performance. The sounds in the background mimic the idea of white noise.
Communication
Maintaining effective communication with your team by using different platforms such as Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts or even Microsoft Teams. In addition, to use these forms of communication, it’s is also helpful when checking in with your workplace at least twice a day. This is a good method of making sure everyone understands fully their tasks, any important news they should know. Or even to use the chance to ask questions.
Things To Remember
It’s important to have a structure in your day, so remember don’t work from your bed. (Unless you have nowhere else to work…) Stick to your working hours, this is a crucial factor that ties in with the idea of work-life balance, try not to overwork and don’t upset your boss by underworking. Set yourself some targets to achieve, this will make become more motivated to get your job done and maybe even faster than you’d expected and keep to the deadlines. Ever heard of a kanban?
