Electrical Equipment Inspection (PAT Testing)
PAT Testing, or as it is more correctly known today, Electrical Equipment Inspection and Testing, is the process of inspecting and testing portable electrical equipment to help identify faults, damage and potential safety risks.
Although there is no legal requirement for annual testing, employers and duty holders are responsible for ensuring electrical equipment is maintained in a safe condition. Regular inspection and testing forms an important part of demonstrating compliance with these responsibilities.
At Pharian, testing is carried out in accordance with the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment, 5th Edition, the recognised industry standard for electrical equipment inspection an d testing within the UK.
